Description | Objective: Ensure the 2nd EU LGBTIQ Equality Strategy is effectively implemented, responds to the needs of all LGBTI people and leads to change in their lives; that EU equality policies contribute to tackling structural inequalities affecting LGBTI people and other groups facing discrimination; support effective respect for fundamental rights and the EU Rule of Law, countering rise of hatred and violence and undermining of LGBTI rights; strengthen capacities of LGBTI organisations to engage in EU policy processes and bring change at national and European levels, and to challenges to their work and the community; strengthening/widening partnerships and building social acceptance. Activities: awareness-raising, fostering dialogue, campaigning; documentation of LGBTI rights, incl intersectional discrimination, and violations in Europe; developing expertise and knowledge; targeted contributions to legal/policy proposals and developments; capacity-building for LGBTI organisations and allies; good practice sharing/peer exchange for policy-makers; organisational development; diversification of funding. Expected results • Enhanced protection against discrimination based on SOGIGESC through adoption and implementation of EU and national laws/policies • Strengthened cooperation with a wide range of stakeholders and policy-makers • Increased ability by members to constructively engage in consultations on EU legislation/policies • Upholding human rights approaches and utilising accountability mechanisms in response to attempts to undermine rights of LGBTI people • Increased awareness of intersectional discrimination and structural inequality • Greater public awareness and social acceptance for LGBTI rights Outputs: policy briefs; good practice guides; Rainbow Module; annual evaluation of EU LGBTIQ Strategy; thematic seminars and skills-building trainings; annual conference; campaigns; communication tools, incl. podcast and blog. |
