Description

Description	In June 2005, China-based and Singapore-listed Bio-Treat Technology Ltd. announced that it had secured a 25-year contract to build and operate a 80,000 tons per day capacity wastewater treatment plant in Lianyungang city, Jiangsu Province over two phases. Phase I was expected to commence in early 2006 and Phase II in early 2007. Concurrently, Bio-Treat was also awarded a concession contract to rehabilitate and operate an existing wastewater treatment plant in Lianyungang city. Bio-Treat, a private Chinese company based out of Dongguan city in Guangdong Province, was to own 100% of the project. The total cost of the project was estimated at RMB 105 million (US$12.7 million) and was funded substantially through bank borrowings secured in June 2005.
