Description

Description

The Liberation Route Europe - Active Remembrance Youth Programme (LRE-ARYP) aims to inspire and engage young Europeans, specifically 250+ individuals aged 18-25, coming from at least 9 countries, in an active exploration and remembrance of World War II, and its different layers. The project leverages the Liberation Route Europe, a transnational memory trail and Council of Europe certified Cultural Route, connecting key WWII milestones, marked with the Vectors of Memory, markers designed by renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, to provide authentic, on-the-ground experiences. Participants will visit crucial WWII sites in Europe, immersing themselves in history through a series of youth exchanges. Each exchange encourages an active approach to learning: participants will conduct interviews, curate historical content, and produce podcasts, videos for an online campaign, and social media content, thereby generating a dynamic dialogue about WWII from a youthful perspective. The culmination of LRE-ARYP is a co-curated online exhibition, presenting the fruits of their work to a broader audience. This compilation of podcasts, videos, and curated historical content, along with a project documentary, will offer readers and viewers unique insights into WWII, as seen through the eyes of today's youth. All this content will also be available on the Liberation Route Europe permanent website and mobile application. The project's final stage is an online event bringing all participants together, enabling them to share experiences, offer testimonials, and formally joining the LRE Youth Ambassadors network. This event showcases the tangible results of their engagement and signifies their ongoing commitment to remembering and understanding Europe’s shared history.
