Liberia - Debt and Ownership Transparency Technical Assistance Project (DOT-TAP)

The proposed operation is a grant of UA 1,000,000 to the Republic of Liberia to finance the Debt and Ownership Transparency Technical Assistance Project (DOT-TAP). This operation is fully aligned with the country’s national development priorities in order to mitigate macroeconomic and fiscal risks, Liberia must manage its debt sustainably and improve its investment climate, creating the conditions to open more fiscal room for social investment/public spending. Challenges such as limited borrowing capacity, tax evasion, avoidance, IFFs, and perceived low business transparency are key issues addressed by this project in a sustainable manner. The project comprises three components : (i) Enhancing Transparency in Debt Management ; (ii) Improving Transparency in Business Ownership ; and (iii) Project management.
