Description | Liberty Link is a pilot program led by the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the New York Public Library (NYPL) to provide high-quality internet access to nearly 2,200 households in 35 affordable housing buildings across the Bronx and Upper Manhattan. The program includes connecting buildings to fiber internet and deploying building-wide Wi-Fi infrastructure, with a focus on serving low-income tenants, including those in Section 8 housing. The pilot will run for three years to test models for citywide expansion and includes digital literacy support through HPD's Neighborhood Tech Help program. |
