Description | In August 2014, Libramiento Elevado de Puebla S.A. de C.V, a partnership of The Mexican company Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura (Pinfra, 49%) and Obrascon, Huarte y Lain Concesiones Mexico (OHL, 51%), was awarded the contract to expand, rehabilitate and operate the 13.3-km road between the state of Puebla and the kilometers 115 and 128.3 of the Mexican federal highway Mexico-Veracruz. In August 2014, the 30-year contract was signed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The investment was estimated at US$ 629.4 million (Pesos 10000 million). About half of the investment was set to be financed by the government. This contract replaced a previous contract signed by the sponsors and the government of Puebla state, and was cancelled. This project was named Libramiento Norte de Puebla. Construction works commenced in February 2014. |
