Description

Description

Denmark has a considerable responsibility for the habitat type 1330 salt meadows as just under 80% of the salt meadows in the biogeographical continental zone and approx. 15% in the Atlantic zone are situated in Denmark. The focus of the SNaP will not just be limited to the habitat type 1330 salt meadows but will broadening the scope to include the whole coastal habitat complex with associated habitat types. The objective of the TA project is therefore to produce the concept note and the final application for a SNaP focusing on restoring and adapting vulnerable coastal nature to climate change. The SNaP project will be at national level. The intentions of the TA is by ensuring engagement of relevant capacities, sufficient resources, stakeholder involvement and technical analyses, to provide a thorough and adequate description of the SNaP. It will improve the ability to foresee and prevent problems and unforeseen occurrences. Early involvement of stakeholders and on-boarding of potential partners as well as multilevel governance will create ownership among stakeholders. Management by a skilled project secretariat, will ensure a robust multiple helix partnership. Through workshops and engagement of technical experts early in the preparation phase, the partnership will be able to frame the SNaP project and map the steps in order to create a detailed and focused CN and FP with clear objectives. To ensure the coordinating mechanism for financing plans and funding supporting complimentary projects and measures necessary for the full implementation of the targeted PAF or a specific national management plan, action will be taken to investigate and initiate dialogue with private and other public funds to mobilize additional funding and projects. Throughout the TA project period the partnership as well as the public will continuously be informed about the project though a project website and relevant SoMe platforms. The contents of the final application will aim at the overall objectives of the LIFE programme in strengthening the Natura 2000 network by focusing on improving the concrete conservation status of the designated areas and the connectivity of these areas.
