Description
Description | This project outcomes from a set of preparatory technical and governance works, including those undertaken as part of ongoing TA Project 101103553 - LIFE22-TAE-PT-LIFE AGRILOOP, granted to support SRADR on preparation and delivery of this Concept Note and its subsequent Full Proposal. In essence, the proposed SIP, to implement from 2026 to 2035, deals with the implementation of the recently approved “Roadmap for Circularity of the Azorean Agroforestry Sector” (Roteiro para a Economia Circular no Sector Agroflorestal na Região Autónoma dos Açores), a new policy instrument that was jointly prepared with contributes from key sectoral stakeholders and their umbrella representatives, other public administrations, and R&D+I organisations. While focusing on the agroforestry sectors - for which SRADR is the regional authority in charge under the Regional Government’s structure - the Roadmap targets compliance and implementation of related policy instruments of EU and national levels on circularity, including especially the 2020 EU Circular Economy Action Plan and the Portuguese Action Plan for the Circular Economy (for the period from 2021-2030). To ensure adequate planning and reduce implementation risks, a careful analysis has been made as part of the TA project on scoping and identification/selection of the most appropriate funding mechanisms available for each purpose/measure identified on the Roadmap (including with the existing information about forthcoming mechanisms still under preparation). This allowed to select those that are foreseen as better fit to use complementary funding, those that are more strictly related with the targets of a SIP – in such case flagged for LIFE funding under the SIP - and those for which complementary funding is still to be found and leveraged - including as part of SIP tasks with such aims. Section 3.1 provides details on all these. |
