Description | The Lifeline Windsor Project is a safety initiative launched along Windsor's waterfront to prevent drownings and suicide attempts. It involves installing more than 100 COMPASS Stations equipped with life buoys, crisis messaging, QR codes linking to mental health and emergency support, and GPS-coded location markers to help responders locate individuals quickly. The project is a partnership between Canadian Mental Health Association Windsor-Essex, Windsor Police Service, the City of Windsor, Port Windsor, Gordie Howe International Bridge team, and the University of Windsor. Crisis-intervention signage will also be installed on the Gordie Howe International Bridge. |
