Description | The Telangana state government has drawn up an action plan to lift water from all major lift irrigation projects excluding the Kaleshwaram project to address the impending agriculture crisis in the Kharif season. Projects like Sitarama Lift Irrigation project in Khammam district, Devadula, and Palamuru-Rangareddy lift projects have started lifting water for irrigation needs. The Narlapur pumphouse under Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation project has been tested and is lifting water on a trial basis. The Devadula project currently operates seven pumps with a capacity to lift 0.23 TMC of water per day, with plans to operate all pumps depending on water availability. |
