The Interreg project “Interlacs. Enlightenment on the archives of sensitive cinema” aims primarily to strengthen the tourism activities of amateur film heritage in the French-Swiss cross-border territory. It is structured around three complementary objectives: to encourage the networking of heritage institutions, academic centres and tourism promotion actors in the area of cooperation — to contribute to the development of local expertise in the digital processing, distribution and preservation of films, around the creation of a centre of expertise of excellence — to contribute to the enrichment of the offer of cultural tourism on the territory, while supporting the current efforts to promote tourism in this area. Through the creation of links between structures, the pooling of equipment and skills, and the realisation of new tourism products (including travelling exhibitions, screening programmes, tourist routes and a multilingual web platform), this project aims to increase the attractiveness of the cross-border region around a “lake tourism” that fully exploits the resources of the regional film heritage.
