The project involves design, build, finance, operate and maintain a Light rail system and its stations in the municipality of Rionegro, Colombia. Rionegro is located in Antioquia department.The railway system will be implemented as an automatic elevated system or APM (Automatic People Mover). The project will feature 17.8 kilometres long viaducts, with a single track of 13.06 kilometres and a double track of 4.5 kilometres. There will be 14 stations connecting the municipality of Rionegro with the José María Córdova International Airport and the Oriente Tunnel that will connect the Valley of San Nicolás with Medellín. The rolling stock will feature 28 cars that will be operated without a driver, at an average speed of 38 kilometres per hour. This system will also integrate all the inter-municipal transport of the region with intermodal stations where intercity buses will arrive and which will allow travelers from other municipalities to reach Rionegro using efficient and sustainable mean of transport.
