Kargi Enerji was planning the development of the 100 MW Kargi hydropower plant, in the Ankara province, Central Anatolia. The project was expected to produce an annual output of 254 GWh. Kargi Enerji was a joint-venture between Turkish Limak Group (50%) and Bilgin (50%). Kargi Enerji received a 49 year license for the plant in May 2010. A water usage agereement was signed in early-2010 with the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works. Commisisoning was expected for early-2011, but later adjusted to 2013. The project was one of three hpp's under development by the joint venture, the others being the 130 MW Tatar hpp and the 130 MW Pembelik hpp. The Turkish government opened up for tender concessions for 52 run-of river hydropower plants, between December 2009 February 2010. During the tenders, 615 bids were made and the deals were finalized in May/June 2010. In 2013, the corporate Limak still reports the project as under development (pre-construction).
