Description

Description

The main objective is to secure a sustainable water groundwater source for the Village of Limerick and RM of Stonehenge and upgrade the Village’s water treatment system to control disinfection by-products and comply with provincial drinking water regulations. The existing water treatment plant supplies potable water to users in the Village and RM. Project scope includes two new wells in the Judith River Aquifer, a truck fill station for non-potable users in the RM, a water treatment plant expansion in the Village of Limerick including a new reverse osmosis system and a raw water methane mitigation system. Project outcomes will include increased access to potable water for Village and RM, increased access to raw water for the RM and adaptation to the impacts of climate change by abandoning the existing drought-prone surface water source in favor of a more sustainable deep groundwater source.
