Description

Description

The border area, where two cultures meet, is attractive for visitors. However, the foreign market on the doorstep is a real challenge for touristic SMEs. The project supports these SMEs in acquiring and expanding know-how on the foreign market Germany or the Netherlands respectively, in order to develop touristic offers of better quality for their foreign guests. This implies contacting touristic stakeholders on both sides of the border personally in a targeted way, offering them a platform for networking in the framework of exchange of experiences or excursions as well as promoting a cross-border knowledge-transfer by means of tailor made training. Individual investments of SMEs in the neighbouring country are stimulated. Furthermore, the project has a mediating role when it comes to linking touristic stakeholders in the border area in performance and service chains. In this innovation cluster new competitive and therefore sustainable offers are created. Bundling of communication is necessary in order to reach the potential guest. To this end the project offers suitable platforms. In this context Euregio-wide umbrella brands for the respective neighbouring market, annual themes and specific target group campaigns should be mentioned, and new online strategies as location-based services and central PR play a role as well. The overall goal on a long term is an increasing number of guests, overnight stays and expenditures in the border area, in particular through more investments by touristic SMEs and organisations in the neighbouring market. In order to achieve these goals in an efficient way, the partners monitor and steer them constantly, with a view to optimizing the effects of the project extensively throughout the common touristic area of all partners.
