Description
Description | The Lincoln Safe Sleep Village is a 'safe sleep site' in South Los Angeles, consisting of a parking lot lined with plywood platforms where unhoused people can set up tents and access meals, bathrooms, and other services. The site opened in 2022 and was contracted to provide space for up to 88 residents. However, the capacity was reduced to about half in April 2024 at the request of L.A. city officials and LAHSA, though funding was not adjusted until over a year later. The site is expected to continue operating as a safe sleeping location until a planned conversion to a 60-unit affordable housing complex begins construction. |
