Description
Description | The project entails replacing watermains 100mm (4 inches) in diameter and smaller with new 150mm PVC pipe. Small cast iron watermains present the highest risk to the distribution system’s capacity to deliver the required levels of service. Approximately 6.5km of the Lindsay water distribution system consist of pipes that are 100mm or smaller. The majority of these pipes (96%) are 100+ year old cast iron. The remainder are 25mm or 50mm (1-2 inches) copper, originally installed as local services but now part of the distribution system. For the capital project in question, the City is planning to replace 4.9km of watermain from 2016 onward. The existing capital plan envisions this project spread over 2016-2024. |
