Description | This project consists of the removal of an aging asbestos cement watermain installed in 1955 along Line 3 Road in Niagara on the Lake to be replaced by 1000 meters of 150 millimetre diameter polyvinyl chloride (PVC) watermain. In particular, it is beneficial to the residents of this area because of the susceptibility of the older mains to break or rupture under extreme weather conditions. The existing watermain is also undersized; this upgrade will result in better pressure and a truer volume to both households and hydrants. |
