Link Union Station Modernization Project

The Link Union Station (Link US) project is a $3 million modernization initiative authorized by the LA Metro agency to upgrade Los Angeles' busiest train station, Union Station. The project aims to bring run-through tracks and eventually high-speed trains to the station, focusing on expanding the station itself, the northern section, and the southern section. Key developments include an expanded passageway, two new plazas, an elevated rail yard with new canopies and platforms, enhanced safety features, bridge replacements, new lead tracks, and a West Bank yard for BNSF Railway. The project also plans to remove 5,500 feet of storage track capacity and dedicate lead tracks for Amtrak and BNSF freight trains.
