Description
Description | "The project of the publishing house Dukagjini, ""Effugium"", consists in the translation of eleven books by various authors of European literature in Albanian. The territorial map of these authors, of course, is only a geographical map, as their literature breaks the territorial boundaries, to be extended to the reader of any culture. ""Effugium"" has a dual meaning: literature as an escape from reality and to make life more beautiful and the escape as a unifying theme of these books, where characters escape either from themselves or from the past. Furthermore, these books, written by authors of different periods, in addition to narratological games, are characterized, in most cases, by the fantastic element, which serves as a unifying thread between them. The interweaving of genres, styles, periods, themes, and the emergence of different cultures makes the reader engage in a constant state of intrigue. This project is a real and unreal excursion to physical and imaginary places. ""Effugium"" targets a wide range of readers and invites an aesthetic escape, reminding us how beautiful literature is, that kind of literature that transcends physical boundaries. With four women authors and seven men authors, with six women translators and five men translators, with young and traditional writers, with minor (personal) and major (universal) themes, this project of the publishing house Dukagjini proves that the way to art and beauty is just one. The translation of L. Bastašić, M. Unamuno, T. Lanoye, C. Milosz, A. Weber, C. Pavese, D. Ruști, N. Kazantzakis, I. Procházková, N. Joldeski, N. Kazantzakis, K. Espmark includes a multiple promotion: of the authors (most of them unknown in Albanian), translators (from small and large languages), cultures (small and large) and the inclusion of Creative Europe.
