The project Literature beyond borders - On the path through new Europe aims to continue to bring high-quality literature from Europe to Serbian readers. We chose authors from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds but all with a common theme – the search for one’s identity in a globalized and modern world and breaking barriers and prejudices. The books will allow our readers to travel across borders even when they cannot physically and learn about their neighbors through books which showcase the diversity of our continent. It is these differences and similarities that make Europe special- it is a melting pot of identities and nationalities but its people also share a common sense of belonging to a continent that has a complex tradition but is open to changes the world throws at it. The themes of the chosen books blur the metaphorical borders and will allow our readers to identify themselves with authors from near and far- Albania, France, Hungary, Holland, Austria, Romania, Ireland, Italy. We will publish 11 books that lead us on a journey through new Europe - one that both goes beyond borders. Through new marketing strategies we implemented during the pandemic, we will promote the published works both virtually and in person with the aim to reach our audience both in Serbia and in the region and diaspora. We expect to have great success with the distribution across Europe with the help of our partners from abroad and participation in fairs and other relevant events. Also, our goal is to do all this while implementing eco friendly practices and investing in our digital formats. We believe that literature is what unites us. This year, most of the targeted authors come from neighboring countries with the goal of promoting dialogue and good relationships, especially to our youth. By getting to know each other, and what better way than through literature, we can build a better and stronger community.
