Description | Mitra Chem is planning to construct a lithium iron phosphate cathode manufacturing plant in Mountain Valley. The project scope includes construction of building space and equipment foundations; and purchase and installation of chemical storage tanks, conveyors, and storage, mixing, coating and drying equipment. Bechtel Corp. has been selected to provide front-end engineering design services for the project and will likely be selected to provide engineering, procurement and construction services. Construction is expected to begin in the second or third quarter of 2023. The estimated EPC cost is $50 million. Mitra will use the plant to manufacture LFP cathodes for use in electric vehicles. |
