Lithuanian–Polish fire services improvement through strengthening competence of firefighters

Taking into consideration the lack of national financing for the security assurance, decreased number of fire stations, lack of human recourses and lack of funding to ensure the firefighters competencies, Raseiniai firefighting department together with Grodek municipality (which represents Grodek volunteer firefighting department) submits the project "Lithuanian – Polish fire and rescue services improvement through strengthening competence of firefighters" which aim is to strengthen firefighters competence and in that way improve fire and rescue services within Lithuania and Poland. The project's target groups are the firefighters of Raseiniai district and Grodek village as well as people of Raseiniai district and Grodek village. The project aim will be achieved through the following activities: firefighters psychological preparation training, qualified first aid training, firefighters exchange, purchase of equipment (needed to improve services provision and for firefighters exchange). These activities will help for firefighters to develop internal and external skills and competencies for the effective provision of fire and rescue services.
