Description

Description

Live DMA represents over 3800 live music venues, clubs and festivals through 21 national associations in 17 countries. By structuring a very fragmented sector and gathering diverse voices on shared values, Live DMA aims at supporting the European live music scenes towards a fairer and more sustainable music ecosystem. “Live Style Europe II” explores the needs and challenges of the local music scenes by pooling knowledge, sharing and connecting inspiring good practices, capacity building, enhancing the participation and solidarity of the members on peers’ exchanges, and representing their recommendations to partners and policy makers. The Covid-19 crisis has dramatically affected the live music scenes all over Europe, and cooperation is key to build a resilient future. While the pandemic will have some lasting impacts on the sector and on our lives, we need to reaffirm the cultural, social, and economical value of live music, as well as the central role of culture in the policies at national and European level. “Live Style Europe II” will follow-up on the activities’ results and tools achieved during the period 2017-2021. We will continue to nurture the “Music Moves Europe” programme in which we are involved since 2015, observing and sharing the specific challenges of the live music sector. We will enter the decade of actions of the Sustainable Development Goals with a strong focus on fair, inclusive and sustainable practices and activities. The network activities are based on innovative practices elaborated by and with its members, such as participative and collective tools for observation (The Survey) and inclusion (The Try-angle). The implementation of the project relies on a team composed of skilled and experienced employees as well as many dedicated volunteers and experts from our membership to ensure a bottom-up governance and a proper management, communication, dissemination and evaluation of the project’s objectives.
