Livestock Feed Manufacturing Project

The Livestock Feed Manufacturing Project involves the establishment of a feed manufacturing plant in Mongu (Western Province), which will cater for the much needed livestock feed currently being imported from Lusaka, the Capital City. Western Province has more than 2000 farmers rearing chickens both layers and broilers and over 600 farmers keeping pigs and a good number in aquaculture. However, the Province has no livestock feed manufacturing companies, as all the manufacturing companies for livestock feed for based in Lusaka and a few other provinces. This project is expected to supply 200/50Kg bags of feed on average on a daily basis when commissioned. Additionally, the project is expected to have a profit margin of 12% annually and annual revenues of ZMW17.5 million (USD 1 million) in year one, ZMW20.8 million (USD 1, 188,571.4 million) in year two and ZMW22.2 million (USD 1,268,571.4) in year 3 respectively. The project also intends to further introduce more different types of feed like fish feed and others. This project will also take advantage of the availability of livestock feed market within the province and the region. The Private Investor(s) will be expected to meet the cost of procurement and installation of the machinery inclusive of the fencing of the factory premises and other startup cost. Therefore, the Private investors (s) will be required to inject cash equity of ZMW 2,500,000 (USD 142,857.1) in order to operationalize the project.
