Description
Description | The LIVECoVET project emerges as a strategic response to the urgent sustainability challenges gripping the livestock farming sectors across eight European Union (EU) countries: Belgium, Greece, Portugal, Romania, France, Luxembourg, Spain, and Italy. With the sector facing the ramifications of climate change, environmental degradation, and the imperative for adopting sustainable practices, this initiative becomes imperative. Recognizing the diversity of agricultural practices shaped by varied climates, geographical features, and policies across participating nations, the LIFECoVET project aims to leverage this diversity as a catalyst for innovation, knowledge exchange, and the adoption of sustainable practices tailored to local contexts. Through comprehensive needs analysis and stakeholder engagement, the project endeavors to develop and implement tailored curricula and methodologies. These educational resources equip VET providers, farmers, and agribusiness professionals with the skills and knowledge to navigate the complexities of modern farming effectively. The project's objectives, intricately aligned with broader EU strategies, including the ET 2020 framework and Erasmus+ program, focus on enhancing education quality, promoting green and digital skills, and fostering collaboration among member states to address societal challenges. By prioritizing digital and green skills development, fostering social inclusion, and promoting lifelong learning opportunities, LIFECoVET stands as a pivotal initiative in driving the EU's farming sustainability agenda. |
