Description
Description | The project entails the construction of the Lot 32 Roads Annuity Project, which is also known as the Illasit-Njukini-Taveta Road in Kenya. The project is being carried out under the East African country's Roads 10,000 Annuity Programme. The PPP scheme involves construction and rehabilitation of a 67km road to augment the existing road network from Illasit -- a settlement in southern Rift Valley Province -- to Taveta town, which is a trading post between Kenya and Tanzania. The BOT project, which will take two to three years to complete, has a concession period of ten years. PowerChina International is the sponsor of the project, which has a total value of KES 6.75bn (USD 66m).
