Description
Description | LNG Canada is Canada's first liquefied natural gas export terminal located in Kitimat, British Columbia. The project is led by Shell PLC and has the capacity to export LNG at a rate of 14 million tonnes per year, with potential to increase to 15 million tonnes annually through operating efficiencies. The terminal began export operations in mid-2025 and has been ramping up exports to Asia, with multiple vessels departing monthly. The project experienced a slow startup phase and operational issues including power outages but is nearing full ramp-up. LNG Canada is planning a Phase 2 expansion to double the terminal's capacity by the early 2030s. |
