Investments in this area will foster the excellence of regional research facilities and enable the establishment of high-quality technology companies in the fields of logistics, vehicle and shipbuilding, energy technology and energy supply. Germany and the Netherlands can become technology pioneers for LNG applications and strengthen their competitive position in Europe. Medium-sized companies in the logistics and transport sector are currently under considerable pressure to cut costs. Their competitiveness can be improved by the use of LNG as a fuel, thus securing long-term jobs. LNG's new business areas will improve the order situation of existing companies (conversion of ships to LNG, plant engineering, etc.) and create potential for new start-ups. |
