Description

Description

The Project will provide financial resources and capacity support to 338 Urban Local Government Institutions (ULGIs) to deliver infrastructure and services to local populations in the immediate post-COVID 19 period. The Project will allocate and disburse grants to ULGIs on a six-monthly basis. ULGIs will use their grants to finance local investment sub-projects in their respective jurisdictions, which will provide citizens (and especially the poor and vulnerable) with tangible social and economic benefits. Project capacity building support will strengthen ULGI management and implementation capabilities in the short and medium terms, enhancing wider local service delivery. In addition, the Project will support ULGIs in the development of Local Preparedness Plans, which will strengthen their resilience to future external shocks, including disease outbreaks and climate change.
