Description
Description | The project promotes exchanges between people of different countries, reinforces mutual understanding and tolerance and gives them the opportunity to broaden their perspective and develop a sense of European belonging and identity through the networks of towns. It will also enable towns to engage citizens and communities in discussions and actions on the climate and the environment, including energy-related issues. The EU Green Deal is Europe’s new growth strategy for a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy. It comprises a comprehensive set of economic and environmental initiatives aimed at creating the world's first carbon-neutral continent by 2050, addressing a wide range of policy areas from a greener and competitive industrial policy, clean and circular economy, a carbon border tax on imports to rules and regulations. Cities are therefore cornerstones to deliver the European Green Deal on the ground. By prioritising the management of a circular economy through the promotion of renewable energy sourcing, green manufacturing and sustainable waste management, cities will transform into more climate resilient spaces. The project aims at Developing Local Green Deals at city level - local tailor-made action plan to accelerate and scale-up a city’s green transition. The bonds that link the Municipalities of Ottiglio (Lead Partner), of Camagna Monferrato, of Rosignano Monferrato, of Sala Monferrato, of Ozzano Monferrato, of Cella Monte – (from Monferrato area - Italy), and the foreign towns: Municipality of Suwalky - Poland - Municipality of Platres- Cyprus, Municipality of Jelgava – Latvia, Municipality of La Palma del Condado- Spain, are examples of concrete integration and collaboration. The project wants to increase, with a long-term perspective, the sustainable cooperation among them. The workplan foresees 6 Work packages (WP1 Project Management and Coordination + five WPs dedicated to events, visits and training):3 events in situ & 2 online. |
