Local spices of Hungary/Egy csipet Magyarország

In 2014/15 the Hungarian version of EDEN project is entitled Local spices of Hungary/Egy csipet Magyarország. Hungarian traditions and offers are far beyond the beliefs and expectations of tourists, and this tender can also contribute to raising the attention of a wider audience to our treasures and values and to introducing the deservedly famous Hungarian gastronomy, many details of which are yet unknown to tourists. The tender aims at finding and raising attention to Hungarian tourism destinations that have: developed special tourism offers on the basis of their own local gastronomy and have existed at least since 2012, tradition of hosting gastronomic festivals, vibrant gastronomy community with traditional restaurants, traditional food markets and traditional food industry, appreciation, promotion of nutrition in educational institutions, strong reciprocal relationships between local producers and local retail and catering enterprises; community wide engagement with the promotion of local food production and consumption, availability and accessibility of food related activities and experiences. The awarded destination will serve as a best-practice destination for other areas. Applicant destinations will be also encouraged to network at national and international level to share experiences. Further objectives include the dissemination of sustainability approach and the promotion of co-operations and partnerships towards the applicant destinations through the selection process. The project will also draw the attention of the tourism trade professionals and also the public to the significance and potential of destinations with special local gastronomy.
