Description

Description

US-based renewable energy developer and operator Terra-Gen LLC said on Wednesday that its 125-MW Lockhart III solar project in California had reached commercial operations. The facility, located in San Bernardino County, will generate enough electricity to power around 62,500 homes and businesses annually. Lockhart III uses the existing gen-tie line connected to Southern California Edison’s Kramer Junction substation. The solar farm’s output is contracted under long-term agreements with corporate buyers and California load-serving entities. Construction of the project created more than 370 jobs at peak activity and accumulated about 260,000 work hours without lost-time incidents. Terra-Gen is also developing a fourth phase of the Lockhart solar complex, which is expected to add another 80 MW of capacity when it enters commercial operations in the third quarter of 2026. Terra-Gen is jointly owned by Abu Dhabi's Masdar and UK-based investment manager Igneo Infrastructure Partners.
