Log boom park waterfront access and viewing project

This 1.5-acre project is part of The Walkways & Waterways approved ballot measure, and the result of the City’s “Imagine Kenmore” public outreach initiative. Kenmore residents confirmed that safe routes for pedestrians and cyclists and connecting residents with the City’s public open space and waterfront are top priorities. Improvements will include development of an American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible path network, picnic shelter and small boat rental building. The Project will improve the existing water access point on Lake Washington for hand-powered boat launching and expand it into an upland sandy public beach as well as provide a new shore access point in the western part of the park. Finally, the Project will include protection of one acre of on-site wetlands from public access, removal of invasive plant species, on-site riparian and upland plantings of native vegetation, and improvements to aquatic habitat.
