Logan Lake - Logan Lake Recreation Centre - Ice Plant Replacement

The project will replace the ice plant in the Logan Lake Arena with a new plant that is safer for the public and workers. The new plant will use less water and reduce the chance of ammonia being released into the atmosphere. The project will increase the quality of recreation in Logan Lake by ensuring there is a safe environment for the use of the arena. In addition, replacing the ice plant will increase the efficiency of the system. The new system will use a coolant instead of a water-based system which will reduce water consumption. The project works will include: - removal of existing ice plant and related electrical equipment; - replacement of lighting and electrical service; - installation of unit heater including thermostats; - installation of ammonia/brine skid; - installation of cooler and packaged ammonia plant including heat exchangers, pumps and controls and refrigerant; and, - related works.
