Description | The Lokichar–Lamu Crude Oil Pipeline is a proposed 824-kilometre onshore pipeline designed to transport crude oil from the production fields in South Lokichar to the marine export facility at the Port of Lamu. It is a key component of the Lamu Port–South Sudan–Ethiopia Transport (Lapsset) Corridor project, expected to transport between 80,000 and 100,000 barrels of crude oil daily once commercial production begins. The pipeline was designed to cut across six counties in Kenya and was initially expected to be completed by 2021, but as of 2025, it remains a proposed project with no construction started. |
