Description
Description | The FC measure envisages the expansion of an inner-city bypass road in the capital, Lomé. It is being implemented in cooperation with an urban development project co-financed by the World Bank. This includes the rehabilitation of inner-city streets in Lomé, the development of water and electricity supplies and the institutional strengthening of various implementing agencies. The FC measure is to be implemented with the same political sponsor (Ministère de lUrbanisme et de lHabitat, MUH) and the same implementing agency (Agence dExecution des Travaux Urbaines, AGETUR-TOGO). The total cost of the FC measure is estimated at EUR 18.467 million, of which around EUR 16.467 million is to be financed from FC funds and EUR 2 million from the Togolese government's own contributions. The aim of the FC measure is to help ensure that goods and transport traffic in the capital, Lomé, meets demand. The target group of the FC measure are both the users of the road and the residents and traders affected by the extreme dust development (approx. 1 million beneficiaries). In addition to the project, the road maintenance fund, which is committed to sustainable road maintenance throughout Togo, is to be supported. The FC measure is in line with the Togolese poverty reduction strategy and the BMZ sector concept for roads in development cooperation. |
