London Heathrow Airport Third Runway Expansion

planned

London Heathrow Airport is expanding with a third runway located to the northwest of the current airfield. The runway will be 11,500 feet (3,500 meters) long and will be accompanied by several taxiways and terminal overhauls. The M25 highway will be diverted via a tunnel under the new land. Terminal Three will close and be replaced by new Terminal Two satellite buildings, and a new Terminal Five satellite building will be near the third runway. The expansion aims to increase capacity to 756,000 annual flights and 150 million passengers by 2035.
