Description
Description | This project will replace deteriorated 4" cast iron pipe with 6" Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) pipe and tie it into another 6" line to allow for flow. Approximately 100 meters of pipe will be replaced, impacting 11 households. The current 4" pipe is extensively damaged and not viable for repair or re-lining. It is also capped causing considerable brown water to back-flow into resident’s homes. The replacement and re-routing of the pipe will eliminate brown water from entering the homes of residents and ensure clean, clear water for drinking, bathing and cleaning. The sanitary sewer will be replaced at the same time as there is a significant risk of failure of the clay pipe over the next couple years due to its age and the fact that the ground around it would be disturbed with the replacement of the water line. |
