Longwood Park Renovation and Dogwood Pavilion Reconstruction

under construction

The Longwood Park project in Gainesville involves extensive renovations and improvements to the park, including the demolition and rebuilding of the 40-year-old Dogwood Pavilion into a new 5,000-square-foot pavilion with new restrooms, outdoor grills, a modernized kitchen building, seat walls, and an outdoor fireplace. Additional improvements include new walking paths, improved ADA parking, a new playground, repaved parking lot, wide concrete pathways to lake amenities, and a new maintenance equipment shed. The project is part of the larger Rock Creek Greenway and Highlands to Islands Trail system, enhancing connectivity and recreational facilities.
