Description | A proposed $1.25 billion high-performance computing facility planned jointly by the University of Michigan and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Los Alamos National Laboratory. The facility will support classified national security work, including nuclear weapons research and simulation related to the U.S. nuclear arsenal. The site is planned for either a location off Textile Road east of Bridge Road and south of the Huron River, or at the Willow Run American Center for Mobility (ACM) in Ypsilanti Township, Michigan. The University of Michigan Board of Regents has finalized the purchase of 124 acres of land on Textile Road, but the final site selection is pending. |
