The project involve the development of an integrated urban development project that would include a convention, hospitality, and mixed-use district on the existing LACC campus.The Los Angeles Convention Center would be expanded by adding 220,000 square feet to the 720,000 square feet of existing exhibit space on the building’s main level and building a new 78,000-square-foot ballroom. The 102,000 square feet of available meeting room space also would be increased to 180,000 square feet. Planned renovations would include updating and expanding the pre-function and arrival areas, lobbies, back-of-house, corridors, storage, and support spaces.It has been taken into consideration reconfiguring the convention center master plan to make up to 14 acres of of the 54-acre convention center site available for mixed-use development. The mixed-use project would consist of condominiums, apartments and retail.
