Description

The project, which was granted to Consorcio La Calera in Febraury 1994, included the rehabilitation and operation of a 53 km toll road. The construction works have already been finalized. Cromas S.A. and Incoequipos hold 30% of the consortium shares, Corp. Financiera de Desarrollo holds 25%, and Consultoria Colombiana holds 15%. The contract was granted for 166 months (13 years and 10 months). The contract included the following segments: El Salitre-Sopó -Briceño (14,5 Km) and Los Patios - La Calera - Guasca (35,5 Km) In November 2005, the Instituto Nacional de Concesiones (INCO - Colombia's National Concessions Institute) anounced that it would renegotiate eight highway contracts. These contracts were costing the Government US$131 million (300,000 million pesos) each year in minimum revenue guarantees. Included in those is the contract for the Los Patios - Guasca - El Salitre - Briceno Toll Road concession. Conversations for the renegotiation of this contract had started at the time of the anouncement. According to INCO, the project concluded in July 2008.
