Lost Creek Uranium Mine

The Lost Creek Mine in Wyoming is a uranium extraction project operated by UR Energy. It uses in-situ recovery mining to extract uranium from sandstone formations by drilling wells and injecting a leachate solution to dissolve uranium, which is then pumped to the surface and processed into yellowcake, the base ingredient of nuclear fuel. The mine is licensed to produce over 1.2 million pounds of uranium oxide concentrate annually but is currently producing a modest amount while waiting for the development of a domestic nuclear fuel supply chain.
