Description | The project involves establishing a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) plant on the coast of Parish, Louisiana. It is the first plant in the United States to liquefy and store gaseous natural gas at sea. The project includes construction by Samsung Heavy Industries and participation from U.S. energy developer Delphine, Japanese shipping company MitsiosKline, investment company BlackRock, and Korea Overseas Infrastructure City Development Support Corporation (KIND). The construction period is expected to be five years, with operation for more than 25 years, producing 4.4 million tons of LNG per year upon completion. |
