Description
Description | GravitHy has appointed Hatch to carry out the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for its low-carbon iron production plant in Fos-sur-Mer, southern France. The facility is designed to produce 2 million tonnes per year of Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) using 100% low-carbon hydrogen as the reducing agent, supporting European steelmakers in transitioning to electric arc furnace steelmaking and reducing CO2 emissions. Hatch's role includes defining the plant's technical configuration, process integration, energy system design, cost estimates, and preparation of tender packages. Project execution is planned to begin in 2028, subject to a final investment decision. |
