Lower Stl’atl’imx Outdoor Recreation Improvement Project

The project will install three new outdoor multi-sport courts in three Stl’atl’imx Nation communities. The recreation courts will promote healthy living and fitness and meet the recreational needs of First Nations of Samahquam, Skatin, and N’Quatqua. Currently, outdoor recreation facilities in the First Nations of Samahquam, Skatin, and N’Quatqua are either non-existent or in poor condition. An improvement in accessible, free-to-use infrastructure is required to meet some of the community recreation needs. The advancement/creation of such recreation spaces would promote healthy living and fitness of all members of each community. The project works will include: - Construction of 3 multi-sport outdoor recreation courts; - Removal of old concrete; - Laying of asphalt subsurface and border; - Court fencing; - Installing flex court multisport court with nets; and, - Other related works.
