Information Department of water resources-MH - II has come up with Lower Wardha Irrigation Project with a ticket size of 3615.29 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Tender Award and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The project is included under Centrally Sponsored Scheme, PMKSY-AIBP and prioritized in 2016 for early completion. Lower Wardha a Major irrigation Project, is situated in Wardha district of Maharashtra State across the river Wardha in Godavari Basin. The project was included under AIBP during 2006-07 to irrigate 63,330 ha in Wardha district of Maharashtra. The main components included under AIBP are part of the Dam, main and branch canal and entire distribution network. During inclusion of Project under PMKSY-AIBP in 2016 Balance Cost of the Project was Rs 1596.11 crore Eligible Central Assistance was Rs 230.198 crore CA released since 2016 till October 2021- 203.07 crore State Share released through NABARD under LTIF till October 2021- Rs 1187.24 crore Physical progress- 89 percentage Financial Progress- 93.62 percentage Ultimate Irrigation Potential is 63330 Ha Irrigation Potential created till June 23- 56732 Ha Projected Date of Completion- June 2024
