Description | The Lower Yarlung Tsangpo River Hydropower Project is located in Nyingchi City, Tibet Autonomous Region. The project mainly adopts methods of straightening and channeling, with the construction of 5 stepped power stations. It has a total investment of approximately 1.2 trillion yuan, making it the largest hydropower project in the world and even the largest project globally. The investment is expected to be 60% infrastructure, 30% equipment, and 10% ecological compensation. The project aims for power delivery as its main focus while also considering local self-consumption needs in Tibet, driving investments in ultra-high voltage and other delivery facilities. It will also be matched with wind and solar storage, indicating strong compatibility of wind and solar. |
