Description | The Lufubu Hydropower Plant is a 163MW baseload hydropower project located on the Lufubu River basin in Northern Province, Zambia. It is developed by Lufubu Power Company Limited, an independent power producer. The project aims to contribute approximately 5% to Zambia's installed capacity and support industrialization, mining sector growth, and rural electrification. ZESCO Limited signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with LPC to secure power from this plant. The plant will be connected to the national grid via a new 330kV transmission line from Mporokoso to Kasama. |
